From the 26th to the 29th May Lancaster will host a weekend dedicated to Italian cinema and fiction. The Italian actor Alessio Vassallo will be awarded with the 2022 Edition of the Best Actor Award for his interpretation of Mimì Augello in the fiction “The Young Montalbano”.
Alessio Vassallo, 38 years old actor from Palermo, is a stage actor who worked in several movies and TV series and who is known in Great Britain for his interpretation of Mimì Augello in “The Young Montalbano”, the renowned fiction screened on BBC. The actor won the Italian Award as Best Actor in the first edition of the event dedicated to Italian cinema and fictions exported worldwide.
The Best Actor Award, assigned by the organiser Totally Local Lancaster and the online journal Cinemaitaliano, will be awarded on Friday 27th May, 3pm, at the Storey Lancaster Auditorium during Lancaster Festa Italia, the event taking place in the city from Saturday 21st to Sunday 29th May 2022.
During the ceremony, Alessio Vassallo will meet the public in Lancaster to present his role in the fiction “The Young Montalbano” and talk about his artistic career developed between cinema, television and theatre. Cinemaitaliano takes the opportunity to promote the initiative created by Lancaster Festa Italia for this Award and offered by Totally Local Lancaster, the organiser of the initiative at its 4th edition.
From this year the Award will be included in Lancaster Italian Festival and in the next editions will grow including screenings and events dedicated to movies and fictions Made in Italy.
