PARTNERSHIP | Autumn 2020 02 | THE PRESIDENT’S PERCEPTION Dear readers, I hope you have been able to navigate through the challenges posed by COVID-19. During these difficult times and while restrictions are being gradually lifted, the Chamber has been supporting its members, keeping them updated with the latest information about Brexit and the pandemic, which are available on our website on dedicated sections. As explained during our last Annual General Meeting on 24th June, the Chamber has now completed its corporate governance reform and internal reorganisation. I am very pleased to welcome the two newly appointed Vice Presidents: Sir Rocco Forte, chairman of Rocco Forte Hotels, and Sabrina Corbo, CEO of Green Network Energy Ltd. It is also with pleasure that I confirm that a new Management Committee will help our Secretary General, Verena Caris, to implement the Chamber’s new business model. Finally, I am pleased that our President Emeritus Leonardo Simonelli decided to accept a new role in the Honorary Board, so his experience and dedication will be once again available to our Chamber’s future. In Autumn, our refurbished offices will be inaugurated offering a new ambiance for the Chamber and for ENIT as well, with meeting rooms and hot desks available for rent. In the same period, we will launch the Chamber’s new website that will give more visibility to all our activities and network. The website will be mobile-friendly, easy to browse and with an area reserved to members. The Annual Conference, whose topic will be “Doing Business in 2021: Beyond Covid-19 and Brexit”, will take place on 4th November, although in a different format from usual, following the Government’s most recent guidelines on events and public gatherings. Our events’ calendar will see more online appointments for the upcoming three-month period, such as webinars on the future of the economy and Brexit, as we will focus even more on assisting Italian businesses making sure they are Brexit-ready. We look forward to seeing you at our Annual Conference.
