ITALY - UK PARTNERS

FROM THE CHAMBERS | 23 www.italchamind.eu representing the philosophy of the brand, displaying 8 kitchens and 5 bathrooms in a 280sqm space. Whilst opening a new showroom in England, Scavolini kept loyal to their vision, which is the one of improving the quality of life in the kitchen area, while raising the standards of both stylistic and functional aspects. Mr. Vittorio Naldi, Branch Manager of Scavolini UK, affirmed that opening a store in North West England was a good choice to have a strong point of reference for that geographical area in terms of design, products and latest novelties. When asked why they chose Preston for their store concept, Vittorio Naldi said it would capture business from affluent consumers in nearby Manchester. This particular area of interest demands an industrial style design that Scavolini is able to provide in the best way to satisfy customers’ preferences. GLOBALISATION AND NEW PROJECTS Today, Scavolini enjoys prestige and credibility all over the world, exporting its brand and products to more than 50 countries. Operating across the globe, Scavolini had a turnover of €222m in 2018. The company built a brand notoriety so high that it became synonymous with Italian design, a true award since their original mission was to bring “Italy’s favourite kitchen to become a cherished family member in homes all over the world”. Scavolini now covers a very large number of contracts for luxury residential complexes all around the world. In 2012, the furniture behemoth expanded into a new furniture segment, presenting their own bathroom concept with benefits, quality and fine design that only Scavolini could deliver. The innovation of the brand consisted in introducing complete ambiances, featuring the latest dictates of lifestyle and wellness, and offering its customers a 360-degree offer. Working together with some of the most important architecture firms, the Scavolini Design & Development Department created several bathroom collections with a rich variety of forms, materials and finishes that could be customised. The functional and innovative design represented a major milestone in the evolution of bathroom furnishing. Among the several collaborations, one stands out as promoted with another “Made in Italy” company, the famous fashion brand Diesel. Diesel’s creative team and Scavolini joined efforts to create a new industrial minimal collection. Diesel Social Kitchen and Diesel Open Workshop are the two projects that emerged from the collaboration: kitchens that expand, presenting space to spend time with loved ones, with sophisticated materials to express one’s style; and bathrooms with strong personalities, dark colours, matt materials and contrasts to create harmonious spaces. A unique partnership for something distinctive yet functional to domestic life. A TOUCHOF GREEN Scavolini is also keen on protecting the environment. This resulted in the Environmental Management System project, which made the company comply with the laws and standards involving their sites and process, identify the environmental aspects linked to the production to keep them monitored and implement the surrounding environment. As a result, Scavolini can guarantee its customers to be implementing its impacts on the surrounding area, keeping in mind environmental issues, using green energy and re-using waste material considering the materials’ lifecycle. In 2008, Scavolini further extended its route, becoming the first business of its sector in Italy to obtain an international certification for its Management of Health and Safety at Work. This certificate eventually earned Scavolini a “Merit Award”, a prestigious recognition given to those companies committed to the environment and social responsibility. Continuously improving its technological innovation, in 2003 Scavolini inaugurated the first of two automated warehouses they currently own, which granted access to greater heights and to wider stocks. More recently, Scavolini launched Sunload, two photovoltaic plants covering 40,000sqm to supply energy for their activities. If Sunload’s energy is not sufficient, green energy can be provided by another supplier that employs renewable sources. A real innovation for the luxury field, and a great example for a “Made in Italy” company investing in the future while excelling in the furniture sector, both in Italy and globally. · Photography courtesy of Scavolini Opposite : Diesel Open Workshop Kitchen Above : DeLinea Kitchen
